100 Word Challenge

Inspired by Lou, I'm participating in this week's 100 Word Challenge hosted by Velvet Verbosity:

“Should I do this?” she wondered.

“CAN I do this?” she fretted.

“If I don’t try, I’ll never know,” she muttered out loud.

She immediately turned to stare out her window at the snowy city rooftops. Her mind wandered, in search of the ever-elusive first word. It’s always the first word that trips her up. Give her a starting point, somewhere to jump from, and she’s golden.

“No need to be nervous,” she told herself, “This task has a prompt, just what you need to help you write. “

She sat down and began writing her first 100 word challenge.

Nothing "Defective" about your typewriter at all. Lovely. A recursive piece. I love it. A nice bit of original thought. Well done, Tuli. You're going to be a welcome addition to the contributors to the '100 Word Challenge'.

Don't forget to leave a link in comments on the post that announced the challenge.

This is really neat, although Bossy prefers her ten-word challenge: less of a commitment!

My thoughts almost exactly the first time I "accepted" the challenge. Well done!

OMG! Took me a minute to "get it". You are clever and creative with your "Typewriter". Maybe some creative writing will help relieve your job funk. Go for it and good luck!

True story: a co-worker of mine quit her job last week to work on a novel.

Yep, the first word. How many times have I sat thinking all I need is that first word.

Perfect!!! And this was my first time, but the words had already come to me and it was the perfect place to use them.

That first word is a doozy. ;)
