Walk

Robert & Helen own/operate the Buckle Yeat Guest House (in the village of Near Sawry where Beatrix Potter wrote her stories).

Between checking guests in and out and running their guesthouse, they often go for walks.

Today's walk is the kind of walk I want to take.

See their pictures here, here, and here.

In my dreams, I'm off to the Lake District.

I LOVE the photos and the area they depict. I am definitely going to have to include a trip to the Lake Country on my next trip to the UK.

Oh, if only places like that were within walking distance! I doubt I'd ever go to work again.

Also, I love Beatrix Potter, hence my cat's name, Miss Moppet. :)

Beautiful! What gorgeous places for walks. Incredible views.

I loved Beatrix Potter as a kid...and still do.

We've always told my mom she is like Beatrix Potter--thinks all the animals (and birds) wear tiny hats and gloves and drink tea in their homes.

Thanks for sharing.

I've been to the Lake District briefly, and took the ferry across Lake Windermere. But we were on a coach tour and didn't get much time for personal exploring. So much of the U.K. is just as breathtaking as those pictures, if you can get out on your own for a walk.

Hope you make it across the pond for a visit someday, Tuli; it will leave you sighing for a chance to go again, like us.

Thanks for sharing the Buckle Yeat blogspot. I saw something about a Beatrix Potter movie. I Googled and a movie was made in 2006 with Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. How did I miss that?! I bet the movie has English Lake District scenery; I'll have to rent it somewhere.
